Craftsmanship & Process
Each tray begins as bamboo — the fastest-growing timber grass in the world. The stems are hand-cut, split into fine slivers, and dip-dyed in rich green and black hues using lead-free and AZO-free dyes. The slivers are boiled in earthen pots for hours, ensuring deep, lasting color while keeping the process completely safe and natural. Every piece is then handwoven by rural women and youth artisans of Purba Medinipur, West Bengal, preserving traditional weaving skills and supporting sustainable livelihoods.
